Corazón Cocina specializes in unique and creative interpretations of street food style tacos and ceviche in a fun, hip, and energetic atmosphere. At Corazón Cocina our mission is “to serve food from the heart”. We mean simply that it is made from the heart using ingredients and culinary traditions from many parts of México. Corazón Cocina promises to always serve highest quality, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We are NOT a fast food restaurant, as everything is super fresh and made to order.

History

Established in 2014.

Corazón Cocina started as a pop-up project at Three Pickles Deli and Santa Barbara Public Market. Soon after, Corazón became a hit among Santa Barbara locals and developed a devout social following. And so, in the summer of 2016, Corazón Cocina officially opened its first permanent restaurant in the Santa Barbara Public Market.

I began cooking at an early age, preparing traditional Mexican foods at my family’s fonda (food stand) in Guadalajara, México.  I moved to Santa Barbara as a young man and worked at fine dining establishments. Never went to culinary school but applied myself by studying on my own, working hard and inspiration through all my travels in México. My goal is to create a modern Mexican dining experience — using ingredients indigenous to México, and strive to highlight flavor combinations that are truly rooted in Mexican culture. Something you might bump into while wandering the streets of México City, right here in downtown Santa Barbara. -Ramon
