About the Business

Specialties

The Burrow is a neighbourhood gem in East Vancouver that has been serving up fresh, simple, and bountiful food in a casual atmosphere since 2009. The creative Mexican-inspired vegetarian and vegan menu is all made from scratch with fresh and bright ingredients. It is hard to choose what the Burrow is most popular for. Our weekend brunch is exceptional and creative, including our Benny’s made on morning-baked cornbread. Our tacos are bursting with colourful fresh ingredients on locally sourced corn tortillas. We have classic fresh lime margaritas. Our baked burritos and nachos have their own cult following. Everything is handmade with fresh ingredients. We serve up bountiful plates that are of good value and are sure to fill you up.

History

Established in 2009.

Aiyana Kane and Jackie Avery are the owners/operators of The Burrow. Teachers before they opened the restaurant, they decided to go into business with dreams of bringing good food to Vancouver while creating a warm and responsible community space. They intentionally design dishes to be delicious and affordable and inclusivity is baked into all of the restaurant practices.

Business Owner

We started this restaurant with the dream of creating a community hub, where customers could gather and enjoy delicious and healthy food in a welcoming environment. We believe in being responsible business owners in order to make our community a better place. We work hard to reduce waste. We serve vegetarian and vegan food that is hearty and satisfies carnivores & vegans alike. We make all of our food from scratch, so the dishes you eat at are fresh and made of whole ingredients, with no hidden sugars or preservatives. We buy local when possible, and try to buy from smaller local distributors. We support many community events and have annual fundraisers and donate to social justice or environmental organizations. We love feeding people, our mission is to nourish our community, AND we love introducing people to crave-worthy vegetarian and vegan food. WL, Jackie & Aiyana
