In our rustic space, we modernize the delicious food of open-air markets, beachside palapas and taquerias. From Michoacán carnitas to Brazilian caipirinhas, our dishes and drinks will transport you to their countries of origin. Drop by, have a bite and travel the world with us.

History

Established in 2007.

With a lack of more eclectic options in the Bavarian-style town of Leavenworth, we opened our doors in 2007 in order to bring the traditional flavors and cultures of Latin America to the community. With every dish and drink, we hope to pique people's interest in travel, tradition, and culture through our Latin American inspired meals.

After teaching at Leavenworth High School, co-owners (and husband and wife duo) Price and Cappy felt there was something to be desired in the community as far as authentic Latin cuisine. Having spent their 20s enjoying inspiring Mexican food and eating boatloads of Mission Street burritos in the Bay Area, Price and Cappy opened SOUTH in 2007 with hopes of sharing a little of what they love from their travels. In 2013, the couple expanded SOUTH to the Pybus Public Market, where they've continued to invite locals from the community to experience their eclectic spin on Latin classics.
