In order to do our part for the rest of the earth, we also operate very green. Using compostables, green cleaners and eco friendly options where ever we can. Even down to our napkins and take out containers. Come in and try how amazingly delicous sustainable can taste!
History
Established in 1994.
In 1994, our founder started a restaurant with a vision of using food as a powerful language to bring people together. Mashiko has always been a place that strives to redefine the typical way of thinking about and presenting Japanese food, finding a way to both honor tradition and innovate in flavor. In 2009, that idea took another step forward when the restaurant committed to only serving sustainable seafood no matter the cost. Ten years after that, 3 long time employees took over ownership of the business, and every day endeavor to continue with the same integrity, creativity and passion that was instilled under the tutelage of our founder. Our efforts to leave a smaller carbon footprint are always growing, and we work tirelessly to find new ways to improve ourselves and our community. We can't wait to meet you and share our enthusiasm, so come in, belly up and say hi!

Business owner information
Mariah, Brandon and Allison ..
Business Owner
Since the year 2000, Mariah has been perfecting her craft as sushi chef here at Mashiko. She's also a certified sake advisor, and that my friends, is not an easy task either. She fosters dogs with her partner for funzies and loves music, movies, art, crossfit and all things awesome. Did you know she went to school for graphic design?Brandon first debuted here in 2010, left for a little bit and came right back. He has been in the food industry since a small child, helping out in his family business before moving into the fine dining world. This family man and crossfit guru pairs well with a conversation about Hall and Oats. Last but not leaset, I'm Allison. I first started at Mashiko in 2004, when I moved to Seattle. I left and ended up opening a handful of bars and restaurants. I would come back to help out from time to time and then it stuck. I've been in the industry for almost 30 years and love it. I enjoy puns, pets, music and the arts, and stay far away from crossfit.
