We're dessert specialists and take great pride in delivering a one-of-a-kind sweet treat experience in our Ballard store. Our products are artisan, organic goodies made with carefully sourced ingredients. Although we're most famous for our take n' bake molten chocolate cakes (served in our signature mini mason jars), we also throw down on several other sensually sweet creations like seasonal desserts, a unique variety of cookies (S'mores is a customer fave), salted caramel sauces, milkshakes (including boozy shakes), creme brulee, sandwiches, the list goes on. Come visit our store to experience the full range of deliciousness. You can also find our organic desserts at shops & markets around the city like PCC, Met Markets, and many more. Our inspiration is boundless. However we may expand, know that we will maintain an honest approach to producing socially responsible, delightfully wicked creations for your enjoyment.

History

Established in 2008.

Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery crafts organic, classic American comfort desserts and other original and innovative confections. We were founded in 2008 with the dessert that gave us our name: Take-n-Bake Molten Chocolate Cake in a Mason Jar. The idea for the "take n bake molten chocolate cakes" came from a dessert that was created for a charity dinner. The cakes were so well-received, the guests practically fell out of their chairs and the orders started rolling in. And so Hot Cakes was born which is built on supporting local and organic farming through the creation of fine, innovative desserts.

This foundation made us jump at the opportunity to become the owners of this magical small business!
