Established in 2009.

Burien Press first opened in 2009. In January of 2014, Matt and Cat Wendland took over the shop and that's that.

Business Owner

Matthew is the founding member of Plants & Animals and been part of the hospitality industry for over twenty years after starting in restaurant kitchens washing dishes and doing maintenance as a teen.Prior to Plants & Animals, Matthew studied law, political science, community development, and nonprofit management and worked as musician, in nonprofits, and as a journalist in the Seattle and King County region.Matthew acts as the Plants & Animals Operations Coordinator supporting the teams that make up the tiny restaurant group's few locations in Burien, White Center, and Seattle.
