History

Established in 2010.

The original Bai Tong Thai Restaurant started in 1989 as a small restaurant near the SeaTac airport by the former Thai airways flight attendant, Chanpen Lapangkura. The main purpose was to cater to the Thai airways crew members. She brought in some top restaurant chefs from Bangkok and fed the flight crews meals like the ones they ate back home. The business grew, and was relocated to the bigger and better location by airport's north end. The restaurant has been voted as the Best Thai Food in town from many associations. Due to the lease expiration in 2006, original Bai Tong had to relocate once again to the new Tukwila location. In 2010, Bai Tong opened its 2nd location in Redmond, WA. In 2012, Bai Tong opened its sister restaurant called 'Noi Thai Cuisine' in central Oregon (Bend). And in 2014, Bai Tong's 3rd location will be opened in Issaquah Highlands, WA. The Bai Tong restaurants have been certified by Thai Select, honoring their cooking with authentic Thai ingredients.
