The Taphouse is a locally owned and operated Abilene restaurant and bar that specializes in what we like to call Texas Comfort Food. Our made-from-scratch menu is flanked by a huge selection of craft beer, craft cocktails, and a carefully chosen wine list. The end result is a comfortable, casual environment with great food and drink served by a friendly and knowledgable staff. We're proud of our little slice of Texas, and cordially invite you to come experience it for yourself...we hope to see you soon!

History

Established in 2014.

The Taylor County Taphouse is the brainchild of owner Josh Robinson, an Abilene native who spent his formative years in the Dallas restaurant, bar, and live music scene before returning to Abilene in 2012. He drew from his diverse experience in the food and beverage industry to combine all of his favorite experiences from the past into one cohesive reality in the present. The design and construction process took the better part of two years, but at the end of that journey stood a monument to everything that is great about food, drink, and hospitality. He created the Taphouse to bring something new and different to the Abilene area--an elegant yet comfortable establishment that's as much your favorite neighborhood bar as it is a great destination for a special night out, a place that will serve you a local-approved chicken fried steak or a top-shelf Scotch from the other side of the world. Mission accomplished.

Josh Robinson, an Abilene native with 20+ years experience in the food and beverage industry, opened the Taylor County Taphouse in 2014.  His inspiration is rooted in the bond that is formed over a good meal or a great customer service experience.  He takes great pride in finding the highest quality products and sharing them with the good people of the Big Country and looks forward to continuing this for years to come.
