Great food, cheap strong drinks. Voted best dive bar in Austin. Neighborhood friendly, downtown action.In the heart of Old-school historic 6th Street. Both the grill (serving our famous burgers) and Pizza Joint (baking up delicious beer crust pizzas in an open flame oven) are open from 11:00 am til real late 7 days a week.

History

Established in 1878.

The frontier closed, and the mischievous legendary Jackalope grew bored of using his human-sounding voice to lure cowboys from the campfire in order to steal their whiskey, and decided to settle down on 6th Street with his own stash of the stuff and have friends over. The rest, as they say, is history.
