History

Established in 2016.

The dream of owning a bakery stemmed completely from Joanna's love of baking and cooking. From a young age, Joanna delighted in spending time with her family in the kitchen. There, she learned the trade secrets to her homemade chocolate cake, Syrian donuts, chocolate chip cookies, pies and more. When Chip and Joanna acquired the Silos property in 2014, they immediately began to dream about what the extra building would be transformed into. Together, they fell in love with the idea that people would be able to travel to the Silos - not just for a retail shopping experience - but for a relaxing atmosphere full of unique, fun activities and opportunities for rest. She and Chip decided that the perfect addition to the retail store, food truck park, and garden would be a signature bakery - filled with sweet treats for visitors to enjoy.

Business Owner

Joanna is Owner, Founder and Lead Designer of Magnolia, as well as the co-star of HGTV's Fixer Upper. Born in the wheat fields of Kansas and raised in the Lone Star State, she is a modern-day pioneer who appreciates the old ways of living: simple and hard-working with home at the center.She graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Communications and was inspired to join the world of design while interning in New York. Although often self-identified as a driver and workaholic, Joanna appreciates her husband Chip's hilarious detours.For down time, Joanna enjoys life on the farm and secretly wishes she had her own cooking show.  Her design preference is simple and fresh with a timeless look. She loves the use of industrial pieces that are a glimpse of how life used to be.Her passion is to create inspiring spaces that encourage others to do the same thing in their own homes.
