History

Established in 2005.

On July 6, 2005, Kathy and Patrick Terry opened their first burger stand at the corner of Barton Springs and South Lamar in Austin, Texas. With inspiration from his childhood, Patrick had planned to bring Austin a throwback to the late 50's and early 60's. Classic, diner-style burgers would be prepared the way they once were--fresh ingredients, friendly service, and the customer treated with utmost respect. As the first store was being built, Kathy read the book "Fast Food Nation." This lead the Terry's to extend their commitment to quality, quality unmatched by practically any drive-thru stand in the country. P. Terry's is where fresh, all-natural, "never-ever" beef and chicken became staple items, along with all-natural potatoes fried in oil free of trans- or hydrogenated fats. Our attention to detail goes deep because what we serve is what you eat.

Patrick Terry grew up in Abilene, Texas, where he was inspired by an iconic burger stand called Mack Eplin's - complete with Googie architecture, hand-painted menus, and a giant sign selling great hamburgers, fries, and shakes at affordable prices.
