A family business through and through, Matt and his family have a long legacy of delicious food and warm, traditional service that's hard to come by these days. History

Established in 1952.

Matt's El Rancho opened in 1952 on Cesar Chavez downtown. It quickly grew from a small restaurant downtown to a Tex-Mex destination on South Lamar. Known for its famous Bob's Queso, named after Bob Armstrong, Matt's has also become famous for its fajita plates, margaritas, and more. With over 60 years serving Austin, we look forward to many more!
