Bringing Central Texas style barbecue to Big D. Lockhart Smokehouse fires up the great smoked meat classics that make Lockhart the "Barbecue Capital of Texas". In the true tradition of great 'cue we serve until we run out of meat. Some weekends we close the pit down around 2 and reopen at 5:30. If in doubt, give us a call first to make sure we are still smoking! We hope to see you soon.

History

Established in 2011.

Lockhart Smokehouse opened the doors for business during the great ice storm of February 2011. The idea came when the owners couldn't find great Central Texas style barbecue in Dallas, so they decided to open their own meat palace. Fortunately, family connections helped out since one of the owners is the granddaughter of Kreuz Market legend, Edgar "Smitty" Schmidt. Therefore, Lockhart Smokehouse is the only place in the DFW area you can get Kreuz Market Sausage. And in the old world tradition, the meat is served on butcher paper straight from the smoker by the friendly folks at the counter. The brisket, sausage, ribs, and other meats are smoked low and slow over aged Texas post oak. Since we are interpreting Central Texas tastes for Dallas, we like to put our own spin on barbecue with our updated versions of family classics.
