Le Colonial is a celebration of the seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920's. Located in the heart of one of America's largest and most diverse cities. Designed to capture a bygone era of romance and soft architecture, celebrated restaurateurs Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King deliver on exquisite attention to detail in a luxurious escapist oasis in The River Oaks District. A lavish downstairs dining room is adorned with period photography, overhead fans and leather banquettes, and flanked by a Parisian-Style sidewalk café. A dramatic staircase leads to a second level lounge, where a large bar, mahogany millwork and plush seating create the perfect atmosphere for cocktails and light fare. Custom louvered shutters surround the west veranda, while an additional terrace on the north side is fully enclosed and features additional dining tables. Mark Jaeschke is a seasoned Restaurant General Manager & Sommelier, having developed and rebuilt fine dining restaurants, craft bars, and hotel food & beverage programs in the Houston, Texas and Southern California markets. Beginning his hospitality management career with PF Chang's China Bistro in Littleton, Colorado before moving on to open landmark hotels and restaurants such as the Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel the US Grant in San Diego, the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast (Conde' Nast #1 5 Star/ 5 Diamond property in North America) as the General Manager of Golf Food & Beverage, and the award-winning Ranch Restaurant & Saloon in Anaheim.Upon returning home to Houston he oversaw the food & beverage outlets of Hotel Sorella (Conde Nast top 25 Hotels in the United States) and ultimately partnered with celebrity Chef Michael Mina to develop International Smoke in City Centre before joining the Four Seasons in downtown Houston as the Multi Unit General Manager of B&B.
