Established in 1996 on historic Sixth Street the Iron Cactus Mexican Restaurant, Grill and Margarita Bar has been serving contemporary Mexican food for over 20 years. We draw our inspiration for our cuisine from various regions in Mexico. The Iron Cactus can be found in 3 locations across Texas. Named one of the top 10 tequila bars in the country, we feature over 100 different types of tequila. With a deep passion for creating bold, unique and flavorful mexican dishes the Iron Cactus stands apart as a premier Mexican restaurant and drinking destination.

When it comes to San Antonio Restaurants, Iron Cactus has the distinction of being one of the best. Located on the Riverwalk across from the rustic La Mansion hotel, our Private Patio is a great place to relax. Watch the boats go by with the family and let us give you a Mexican dining experience you'll never forget. Our swanky Agave Room Bar boasts over 80 Tequilas to choose from. Our hours are: Sunday - Thursday: 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Agave Room Tequila Bar: Sunday - Thursday: 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday - Saturday: 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Happy Hours: Monday - Friday: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Iron Cactus evolution began in 1996 when Gary Manley and Michael Pottorff restored a historic, turn of the century building on Sixth Street in Austin, Texas that became the original Iron Cactus. The mission of creating a warm, friendly and unique environment was accomplished and today our restaurants provide guests with the best Mexican food and fresh lime margaritas in the markets we serve.
