Garbo's is a neighborhood lobster shack located in central Austin, Texas. In 2020 Garbo's moved from their original brick and mortar in Wells Branch to Parmer Crossing. Their new location will serve up to 200 guests in their dining room, private event space, oyster bar lounge and outdoor year-round patio spaces. At the helm of this woman owned and family operated seafood concept is Heidi Garbo, daughter of a Connecticut lobsterman. Heidi has lived all along the East Coast from the Northern seas down to the Florida Keys. In the Florida Keys is where she got her start as a food truck entrepreneur, before the food truck craze started. Her first food truck, Garbo's Grill, became a hot spot for tourists and locals. After meeting her husband, Heidi sold Garbo's Grill and they moved to Austin, Texas. Though she found herself landlocked for the first time in her life, Heidi saw this as a great opportunity to introduce Austin to the lobster rolls she still considers her favorite food today.
