History

Established in 1936.

In 1936 Charles Supermarket was founded by Charles DeLeon. After about fifty years Charles sold his business to J.T. Kim in 1985. Since then Mr. Kim has expanded the store from Charles Supermarket to Chas Market & Kitchen. Once inside you can order from a diverse menu that serves American, Mexican, and Korean Bbq foods.

Business Owner

JT gained experience in cooking and running a business in the 1970's. He had managed a convenience store and a small restaurant. Ultimately, in 1985, he ended up settling in San Antonio with Chas Supermarket. From there he wanted to share his passion in cooking by opening a restaurant inside to serve his food to customers - and so he did. What was once Chas Supermarket became Chas Market & Kitchen.
