Otto's is fiercely committed to quality. Our beer is handcrafted with the finest ingredients available. Our American bistro cuisine is made with fresh ingredients from local farms, wineries, and bakeries. Our brewery and restaurant are co-located and feature a family-friendly and casual atmosphere. We're located in State College, PA, minutes from Penn State.

History

Established in 2002.

We love Beer, People, and Local Foods In October 2017, Otto's celebrated FIFTEEN years serving local food and fresh craft-brewed beer to the fantastic and faithful fans of our pub and brewery. Coincidently, on November 1, 2010 we opened our new and current location with more parking, more seating, and new services to offer our dedicated customers. Our new location is our gift to you. You supported us when we barely had the funds to buy grain and hops. You supported us when our parking lot became too small. And you supported us by telling your friends and colleagues about us. We thank you for everything you have done to make Otto's a destination for consistently great food, great beer, and great people.

(a.k.a.) co-owner and head brewerIt's rumored that Charlie has hundreds of beer recipes (probably hidden in a locked drawer of a mammoth wooden desk in some dim-lit and dusty office). All are handwritten and intentionally named. Hellcat for instance, isn't just a catchy name. It's a dedication to Otto's Little Hellcats, all baby girls born to Otto's staff within months of each other, back in 2004-ish. Red Mo and Black Mo are named after the local Moshannon streams. The Jolly Roger? Take a wild guess... Charlie's not afraid to experiment with new flavors or search tirelessly for the perfect hops.Before Otto's Brewery there was the Bullfrog Brewery and before that, homebrewing. The Bullfrog, located in nearby Williamsport, was a natural extension of Charlie's passion and talent for homebrewing. After graduating from Penn State and realizing the potential for microbrews in the area, Charlie decided to open a brewery in State College. Otto's Pub and Brewery opened in 2002.
