Since El Rey Azteca opened up in 2010, we've been serving our community Mexican food the way it was meant to be: bold, fresh, and authentic. As a family-owned restaurant, we're using traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations. That way you can enjoy the homemade dishes our founders' family has been making for as far back as they can remember. We want the feeling of home to extend beyond the taste of our dishes, so we'll make sure you feel like part of the family, too.

History

Established in 2010.

El Ray Azteca was established by Gaston and Betsy Romero. Gaston and his sister, Betsy, are excited to bring their traditional Mexican recipes to northeastern Pennsylvania. All of their homemade dishes and authentic recipes were passed down through generations for everyone to enjoy.

Business Owner

Gaston was born in Tepexpan, a small town in the outskirts of Mexico City. Growing up, he remembers traveling from town to town and state to state with his parents in search of a better living. He spent time working in a few different restaurants before deciding to open up his own. As time has gone by, it has become his passion to teach people about his food and culture.
