Our Sake "flights/samplers" change monthly and allow you to try 4 outstanding regional Sakes with your meal. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (The Scary Jerry, The Waraji Roll, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, and over 30 appetizers. History

Established in 1997.

A passion for presenting the very best Japanese cuisine in the region led Chef Masatoshi Tsujimura to open his own restuarant in 1997. His strong connections with various Japanese suppliers allow him access to the best quality fish and specialty foods from Japan.

Masatoshi Tsujimura was born in Shimonoseki, Japan, a major fishing village in western Japan and home of the famous Fugu, (blowfish or pufferfish.) Chef Masa started his sushi career in America in 1982 in central and southern Florida. Masa came to Raleigh in 1984 to help open one of the first sushi bars in North Carolina. In 1997 he opened his own restaurant, Waraji Japanese Restaurant. Consistently ranked as one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants and sushi bars in the region, Chef Masa has introduced sushi to many first time customers and developed a loyal following of sushi lovers. Chef Masa is passionate about representing the highest quality of authentic Japanese cuisine to his customers and community.
