Tandem serves modern American cuisine in a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere in Historic Carr Mill, Downtown Carrboro. The menu features seasonal, farm to table food sourced from family-owned local farms. Our food draws from regional American and international influences, presented in a creative and interesting way. We feature a full service bar with craft cocktails, local artisan beers, and an inspired wine list. Food and service are our specialty we believe in locally sourced high quality food served with a smile that make you want to come back. The food is bold and beautiful with intense flavors. Tandem aims to be the neighborhood hub for the community with an extensive give back program and focus on supporting locally.
History
Established in 2016.
The restaurant is the creation of Chef Younes Sabouh and Emma Sabouh. Tandem's menu offers regional American cuisine with international influences. Chef Younes sources ingredients from family-owned local farms. The menu offers a la carte ordering as well as shared plates. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Business Owner
Chef Younes who is originally from Morocco, worked throughout Europe, including as the personal chef for the family who owns the Hermes luxury goods line and travelled the world with them. Chef Younes came to the Triangle to work at Herons restaurant at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary. Emma Sabouh who is originally from Sheffield, England has been here for the past 22 years and a Carrboro resident, with 4 children. Prior to working at City Kitchen her resume extends to corporate trainer of Zoes Kitchen and extensive hospitality work within Loews Hotels and Resorts and Crowne Plaza throughout the US.
