Posana is a contemporary American restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville on Historic Pack Square. With a focus on serving local, seasonable, and sustainable cuisine, Posana sources unprocessed, premium ingredients from nearly 65 different local purveyors and farmers. The menu changes regularly and seeks to accommodate a variety of diners’ needs. The kitchen is dedicated gluten free and a certified green kitchen. The restaurant’s warm welcoming main dining room is the perfect destination for dinner or a special occasion celebration. Our newly renovated Mandara Gallery is the perfect location to host your next private event. We can’t wait to serve you.

History

Established in 2009.

Peter opened Posana with his wife Martha in 2009 as a café and following extensive renovation, Posana became a full service restaurant in 2013 offering a sophisticated local and seasonal menu to compliment the friendly, relaxed sentiment of the town. Since opening the restaurant, Peter has become heavily involved in the local farming community, launching his own urban garden in 2014 and hosting an annual benefit dinner supporting the ASAP's Growing Minds Program.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Posana's Co-owner and Executive Chef Peter Pollay has over 20 years of experience working in kitchens for such chefs as Wolfgang Puck at Granita and Spago Chicago, David Burke at Park Avenue Cafe, Waldy Malouf's Hudson River Club, and Larry Levy.Peter has served two terms as president of Asheville Independent Restaurants and led efforts to secure Asheville's title as the first "Greenest Dining Destination" in the U.S. His philosophy of sourcing premium ingredients, working closely with the local farming community, and never taking shortcuts when preparing a dish can be felt on the menu at Posana.
