Specialties

Morning - warm croissants, muffins, danishes, and scones- all baked fresh, from scratch. Some of our favorites include lemon-ginger muffins with lemon-curd filling, almond croissants, and roasted red pepper, basil & cheddar scones. Noon - sandwiches on freshly-baked bread, quiche made with local eggs and cream, or a slice of focaccia with toppings of local produce and gourmet cheese. Night - Cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and tarts, wine from a small vineyard, a bottle of artisanal beer, or a cup of Krankies coffee to go with your dessert.

History

Established in 2008.

In 2008, Cary Clifford, an untrained but passionate baker, started a tiny bakery in the basement underneath Krankies Cafe. The business quickly grew and in 2001 we opened our first retail shop in downtown Winston-Salem on 4th St. We soon added 2 other locations; Baptist Hospital and Brookstown. Last year in 2019, Cary had the great joy of bringing in 2 of Camino's long-term managers, Lisa Warner and Jordan Poe-Crawford, as co-owners. Recently, Amber Chase (our wholesale manager) became our 4th owner. Winston-Salem has supported us in our mission o create fabulous baked goods and beverages everyday, so we are dedicated to giving back to our community. We love this city and are excited to see where this journey leads us.
