History

Established in 2015.

Beer Barrio was founded by NYC restaurant industry vets/husband and wife team Stephen Durley and Hayley Jensen. Carol Jensen is also a managing partner. Chef Stephen Durley's career has spanned over 15 years. As Chef at Taproom No. 307, he incorporated beer and beer ingredients into his food in ways never before seen. His passions are beer, brewing and cooking great food. Stephen has worked in some of New York City's finest restaurants, including Daniel, Jean-Georges and DBGB Kitchen & Bar. He has a wide range of experience including everything from fine dining, baking and pastry, butchering, and even decorating wedding cakes- He has three culinary degrees! Stephen has appeared on Beat Bobby Flay, and has been featured on the Cooking Channel Online. Stephen is an avid homebrewer with his wife, Beer Sommelier Hayley Jensen, and together they have won many awards, including Best Homebrewers in New York State.

Business Owner

Beer Sommelier Hayley Jensen will curate the beer list and act as General Manager. She also has a passion for mixology, and acts as the Official Mixologist for Angry Orchard Cider, the most popular cider in the US. She loves serving her patrons and educating them in the process. Hayley first discovered beer after college, and toured Europe to sample old world ales and lagers. After moving to London and working in the craft beer scene there for several months, she returned to New York City.. She joined famed Chef Daniel Boulud as Beer Sommelier at DBGB Kitchen & Bar. Her involvement in the beer industry has led to appearances on The Today Show, Fox & Friends, The Better Show, and more, as well as features in the The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more. Hayley is also an award-winning homebrewer with her husband.
