2018: Long Islanders Voted The Greek Place Best Gyro on Long Island Greek food has been kept traditional for many years, until now. The Greek Place’s Chef Pete has taken the traditional and made it remarkable. He has created Greek Fusion, which incorporates home-style Greek food with other national and international dishes—from the Gyro Philly Steak, which is made with sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms and melted cheddar, to the Italian Gyro, which consists of sauteed gyro, melted mozzarella and marinara. Aside from having many traditional dishes available, Chef Pete delivers a new way of enticing your taste buds. The gyro made at The Greek Place is sauteed and cut off the all-famous “Gyro Cone,” yet it is made to order so you get fresh juicy gyro—sauteed on a flat iron grill and splashed with an au jus that will make your mouth water and your soul sing!
