History

Established in 1975.

Takesushi was the first sushi specialist established in New York City on April 1975 and is became a popular within the Japanese community. We previously had several locations that have since closed - 230 Park Ave, Great Neck, Woodmere, 54th Street & 2nd Ave, Washington D.C. and also Toronto. We also specialized as a fish distributor for importing and exporting in the New York area. We have moved to Sunnyside and will try to make the best quality of authentic Japanese food in Queens.

Robin Kawada has been in the fish/sushi business for 35+ years.  His aim is to deliver the best quality food to his customers at a very reasonable price.  He has offered traditional, authentic Japanese cuisine in his previous restaurants and is looking to continue this in Sunnyside.
