The Lake Placid Pub & Brewery serves great beers and delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. Since 1996, the LPP&B has been Lake Placid's pub of choice, with the freshest microbrewed ales and lagers, including the famous Ubu Ale, and traditional pub fare sure to please everyone. We also feature rotating seasonal beers such as Twice Bitten Barleywine, Ectoberfest Lager, Maibock, High Peaks Hefeweizen, and Dr. Fogg's Oatmeal Stout to name just a few. We have brewed hundreds different styles of beer over our 27+ years in business.

History

Established in 1996.

The Lake Placid Pub & Brewery has been brewing award-winning ales and lagers for more than 27 years, earning the respect of the brewing community and national media attention. Over the years we have brewed over 100 different styles of beer and we brew almost 300,000 pints of beer annually, placing us in the top 7% of brewpubs nationwide.

Business Owner

Christopher Ericson has owned and operated The Lake Placid Pub & Brewery since he founded the company in 1996 at the age of 24.  He graduated from Williams College with degrees in History and Psychology in 1993 then decided to pursue microbrewing in his native Maine at Kennebunkport / Shipyard Brewing Company. He then was hired as Head Brewer at The Shed Restaurant & Brewery in Stowe, Vermont, where he worked for a year and a half. During that time, Christopher and a friend from Williams wrote a business plan and their search for a location led them to Lake Placid.  He currently lives in Lake Placid with his wife of 23+ years, Catherine, their daughter Grace (18), and their son, CJ (14).
