Woodside's Landmark Gathering Place came to life in 1966 when a New York City Firefighter named Joe Donovan, with the help of his father, purchased the Clover Leaf Bar on the corner of 58th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. It didn't take long for Donovan's to become a favorite with the heavily Irish community. Joe Donovan became well known throughout Woodside, especially with his neighbors across the street at St. Sebastian. With good food at fair prices, Donovan's Pub has become the gathering place for everything from a quick drink to large family gatherings celebrating life.

History

Established in 1967.

Since opening its doors on St. Patrick's day in 1967, Donovans Pub of Woodside quickly became know as Woodside's Landmark Gathering Place, hosting small weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthdays, reunions, family gatherings or simply a night out with friends. The Pub boasts a quaint Irish Pub setting that makes you feel as if you were in Ireland. Family friendly, we offer great food at reasonable prices, including our World Famous Hamburgers, voted #1 by Time Out NY, #2 by the NY Times and praised by publications around the world.
