History

Established in 2004.

Owners Ruairi Curtin, Mark Gibson and David Mohally opened Bua in 2004, transforming it from a rundown tiki bar into the East Village's favorite spot to catch up with friends over a beer or a bite. Its illustrious history includes hosting the recording of Jeff Buckley's Live at Sin-é album in 1993, as well as serving as renowned Irish designer Clodagh's interior design showroom at one point. It's now the East Village's beloved local, still going strong.

Dan joins Bua after many years mixing up cocktails at our sister bar The Wren. When he's not behind the stick or working his wizardry in the Bua office, he's performing all over NYC as a singer-songwriter (eminomusic.com).
