This Panama City Beach restaurant, with an air of island casualness, serves the highest-quality cuisine, including the freshest local seafood featured on menus designed and printed daily to take advantage of the local bounty. Executive Chef Gregg McCarthy has a passion for great-tasting food and particularly loves working his culinary magic with fresh Gulf Coast seafood. Boaters and beach-goers feel comfortable in shorts and flip-flops at the oyster bar, in the dining room and at the North Drop Bar. The Grand Marlin has a space and atmosphere for all occasions and is looking forward to creating an authentic experience between time and tide.

History

Established in 2016.

The story begins, as many good stories do, with a group of friends killing time on a boat, waiting for the fish to bite. The boat? The Gulf Rascal, a 68-foot Hatteras. The place? The North Drop, the world-renowned marlin fishing ground north of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. The fish they were waiting for? Atlantic Blue Marlin, pound-for-pound the world's strongest sports fish. The fishermen? A group of close friends and longtime business associates who share many passions: boats, big-game fishing, good food and drink, the stress-free lifestyle of the Caribbean and an affinity for the thrill that comes with hooking a big marlin. "How can we tie all these things together and share them with folks back home?" they asked one another. Out of that simple question was born The Grand Marlin. The Pensacola location opened in March 2010 & the Panama City Beach location opened in October 2016.
