Thai Island Restaurant is a full service Thai & Sushi waterfront located at the Garrison Bight Marina in beautiful Key West Florida. The restaurant contains a large amount of indoor and outdoor seating with a patio view of the water. Open since Valentines Day 2008, Thai Island has been the locals favorite choice. Similar to Thailand, ingredients such as lemongrass, basil and papaya and other thai spices are grown locally at the Chef's residence on the island.

History

Established in 2008.

Thai Island Restaurant was established by a Thai Chef and her husband back in 2008 at the Garrison Bight Marina. In addition to the excellent waterfront location, the restaurant location was selected for its convenient location between New Town and Old Town and its large amount of free parking. The restaurant was also formely the site from The James Bond 1989 film "Licence to Kill" Barrelhead Bar (known as: Harbor Lights Raw Bar) where James Bond and Pam Bouvier first meet up with Dario. The Barrelhead Bar sign is still inside the downstairs bar and restaurant portion of Thai Island Restaurant.
