History

Established in 2014.

Red Mesa Mercado is the third Red Mesa restaurant in the Saint Petersburg area. Family owned and operated, Mercado fills a niche for a casual dining environment with no compromise in quality and flavor. With strong ties to Southern California as well as Mexico, it was only natural that the wonders of street-casual dining would come to Florida with its range of exquisite flavors, great value and fun environment.

Peter and Shawn opened their first restaurant in the Saint Petersburg area more than thirty year ago. Their approach has always been to serve with the same love and care in their restaurants as they do at home. Legendary as gracious and generous hosts, known for their dining extravaganzas, it's no different whether you're in their home or in one of their restaurants. You will eat well, whether you're dining "alta cocina" style at Red Mesa Restaurant on 4th Street, celebrating life with food and drink at Red Mesa Cantina downtown or stopping by for a quick burrito-fix at Red Mesa Mercado, you're always welcome and will always be met with open arms and the best meal you'll have had in a long time.
