History

Established in 2009.

The Original Lazy Lobster in Sarasota was opened by Bob Fracalossy in 2006. In October 2009 Bob, and friend/ business partner Michael Garey expanded the business to its Centre Shop Longboat Key location. With quality and value as their main focus, The Lazy Lobster of Longboat quickly established a standing reputation with locals and visitors alike.

The partnership between Bob Fracalossy and Michael Garey began years ago in 1979 at Café L'Europe on St. Armand's Circle where Bob was the butcher and Michael was bussing tables. Eventually, Bob became the Chef and Michael the General Manager. Michael and Bob reunited once more to open The Lazy Lobster of Longboat on October 15, 2009 during the peak of the economic downturn, in a location not necessarilykind to previous establishments, with many of our extended family and friends accusing us of insanity. Thankfully, the restaurant took off almost immediately and has been successful beyond our wildest dreams. Our mission is to be the neighborhood choice for our guests & their families; proudly providing a casual atmosphere that consistently exceeds expectations. Great food, high energy & honest, friendly people are the keys to our success.   Whether you're seeking a casual night out or celebrating a special occasion, we always strive to make your experience great!
