Miami-Dade County through Broward County, we invite you to Wakefest Beer Festival, South Florida's first and only International and Independent Craft Beer Festival. Featuring over 120 independently-owned craft breweries from across the country and around the world, including eight of the top 10 craft brewers in the world according to RateBeer, offering beer lovers the opportunity to taste some of the world's rarest and most sought-after beers. It's all happening in MANA Wynwood on February 2, 2019. It's going to be FUN and TASTY. Live music featuring South Florida's finest, local food trucks and yours truly, J Wakefield Brewing's BEST beer options yet.* Early Bird and VIP Tickets are on sale now! Please read the FAQ's on our website for more information. Leading up to our Beer Fest, we welcome you to stop by for some of our seasonal flavors in-house at the bar or in our tap room. AND take your pick of the to go options-yes you can pick up your beer to take home or for gifting. (We also, deliver/ship too). We typically have food trucks on site for the general public but if you want to book a private tasting event, party, tour or an offsite inquiry call ahead for more information.

History

Established in 2014.

It all started back in 2005 with a Mr. Beer homebrew kit. At the time, John had obtained his Masters degree in accounting and taken the occasional culinary class. What started off as a hobby quickly grew into a lifestyle--the lifestyle of a brew master. It wasn't luck that got John where he is today--it was trial and error. He had to earn the respect of other brew masters, which in turn, landed him an internship at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, FL. Since, John has become a staple in the craft beer community. He has won multiple home brew competitions and has gained world-wide recognition. According to ratebeer.com, his Dragon Fruit/ Passion Fruit Berliner Weisse is currently ranked number eight among the top 10 beers of the world.

Brewing since early 2000, John gained recognition as a homebrewer winning many awards for our now world famous Florida Weisse style sour ales. After honing his brewing skills for a couple years at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, he came back to Miami to open his very own independent craft brewery back in January of 2015.
