History

Established in 1997.

Fifteen years in the charter and commercial fishing business, one of the most commonly asked questions has been: "Where is a good seafood restaurant?" Responding to the question was always difficult and often resulted in "showing off" some backyard grilled fish. The response from even those who said they "don't like fish" was phenomenal, and the idea for Grills was born. After years of consideration and experimentation, Grills original location was built on the water's edge of Sunrise Marina and opened in 1997. Grills Riverside was opened in May of 2010 and now Grills Lakeside in 2018.

Grills was inspired from a love of the ocean and an appreciation of the catch. Charter and tournament fishing in Venezuela and the Caribbean Islands during the 1980's provided exposure to many different cooking techniques. Grilling fresh fish became a passion. The response from those who claimed they didn't "really like fish", was phenomenal,  and the idea for Grills was born. Great fish prepared in the healthiest and most flavorful way possible...marinating and grilling.  The first Grills opened in Port Canaveral in 1997. Grills Riverside Melbourne opened 2010 and the latest edition Grills Lakeside on Lake Fairview Orlando opened Jan 2018. All of our locations are on active waterfronts featuring live music. Our desire is to offer an "island experience" by serving amazing food at beautiful waterside locations...a mini- vacation from the busyness of life.
