Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine is an authentic, family-owned Turkish restaurant located in the heart of Dr. Phillips, Florida. Bosphorous originates from the strait that lies in the center of Istanbul and connectsEurope to Asia. Whether you are hungry for hollow bread or Lavas and hummus, or hand-carved Lamb Sis Kebabs, our fresh and home-made food is sure to delight all palates. Inside you will enjoy warm color tones accented with antique hookahs, while outside you will enjoy the energy of Park Avenue. Fragrant aromas, fresh ingredients, and family-like hospitality will have you wondering when you arrived in Turkey. Doved and Tammy Sexter assumed ownership of Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine in 2009, retaining many of the original chefs that helped open the restaurant in 2005. Paying special attention to authenticity, Doved and Tammy have seamlessly transitioned Bosphorous into the household name that it is today.

History

Established in 2004.

Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine began business in Winter Park, Florida and quickly became one of Central Floridas treasures and a fan favorite. In 2012 Bosphorous opened up its second location in the Dr Phillips area and is establishing itself as a unique destination to enjoy the areas best Middle Eastern cuisine.

Executive Chef Halil Ertane is a native of Adana Turkey and was born in 1966.  He began his career working in his father's restaurant and learning the classical ottoman Turkish cuisine at his side..  He steadily progressed working at some of the finest restaurant in the larger cities such as Instanbul-Yuzevler, Ankara and Ankara Iskender, Antalya. When one of the biggest and most famous restaurant in New York City came calling Chef Ertane moved and began as the Executive Chef for Sahara in 2000.  In 2008 as his style, leadership, and strategy caught the attention of Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine in Winter Park, FL he moved along with his family.  The Chef is married with 4 children and is thrilled to call Orlando his "home".
