Heilmans Beachcomber is owned and operated by the Heilman family. They started there first restaurant in 1920 in Lorain, Ohio. The present location in Clearwater Beach has been open since 1948

Bob Heilmans Sr. Won the Restaurant Man of the year in 1964 and was very active in promoting the restaurant industry. In 1968 he was elected president of the National Restaurant Association. In 1984 The torch Passed to His son (Bob Heilman) and Daughter-in-law(Sheri Heilman) who took up the challenge and kept the family legacy going. The also added there own new addition to the family name Bobby's Bistro.
