About the Business

Specialties

We are belgian inspired gastropub that utilizes high quality ingredients to create a unique and dynamic menu. Most of our tap handles are devoted to belgian and german beers, but we also have a few IPA domestics. We are very proud of our wine menu as well. Our food menu is constantly changing. We have an established core menu but also do specific specials each month. In 2014, our side menu items are from New Orleans in January and February, March is Ireland, April is Germany, May is India, June is Spain, July is Belgium, August is New Mexico...and so on. We are dedicated to quality service and are constantly striving to excel in how we greet and service our customers. We are not perfect...a restaurant has so many moving parts...anything can go wrong on any night. But our heart is in it to win it...and we hope you will visit us soon!!! December 6, 2013 Eater National named us one of the hottest new bars in America. That's a lot to live up to...but we work hard everyday!!!!

History

Established in 2013.

People often ask, "Why The Rusty Monk?" When Kyle Koestner's wife was giving birth to their first daughter, his mind was perhaps occupied in the wrong direction. He was absorbed in watching Errol Flynn's Robin Hood on the small monitor in the birthing room. He abandoned his role as lamaze coach to laugh at the exploits of his favorite character, Friar Tuck, who drank too much, ate too much, fought, talked, and cursed to much. Kyle loved the dichotomy of Friar Tuck. He was a man of the cloth- always trying to be good, but just a little rusty at it. At The Rusty Monk, we endeavor to bring you an Old World experience, with hearty and unusual food, both exotic and familiar beers, and friendly service, so that you, too, may eat a little too much, talk a little too much, and imbibe just a bit much in good company. Colleen Koestner was born under the hooded wink of Friar Tuck's inebrated eye, and she has been honored to collaborate with her father and carry on his torch.
