According to an 1889 newspaper, "Unlicensed saloons in Pennsylvania are known as 'speak-easies'." They were "so called because of the practice of speaking quietly about such a place in public, or when inside it, so as not to alert the police or neighbors."

The Blind Rabbit was first conceived from the desire to bring something special, born out of love, to a neighborhood rich with culture. The concept: hide an old-fashioned speakeasy somewhere in the shadowy depths of the historical Anaheim Packing District. Concealed within the bustling walls of a Sunkist Orange Packing House built in 1919, The Blind Rabbit represents a 1920s club equipped with an intimate vibe, dim lighting, and seasonal craft libations and dishes. Our purpose has always been to provide guests, friends, and family with an authentic prohibition bar experience, where visitors can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life to enjoy handcrafted cocktails and food.
