Our vision in founding the Summit House was to create a place where friends and family could eat, drink, and celebrate special occasions- whether it be an enchanting garden wedding and reception for 200 guests, a private party for 20, or a romantic anniversary for two.

Gary P.Almost thirty years ago proprietor Gary Parkinson climbed to the top of a grass covered hill in the city of Fullerton, California. Awed by the magnificent views previously enjoyed only by the rabbits and coyotes who inhabited this rustic pinnacle, a vision was born- a vision of a special event gathering place for people from all over Southern California.  Gary Parkinson following graduation from University of Virginia in 1971, moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to pursue his dreams of entrepreneurship the hospitality industry. After graduating in the first  graduating class from Florida International University School of Hospitality Management in 1973, Gary worked for ten years in Kansas City and Southern California with Host International, Inc. January of 1984 Gary and Lloyd McDonald started a partnership in the original Catch Restaurant of Anaheim, and in 1991 after two years of planning, designing, and construction, opened what is now the Summit House in Fullerton.
