Richard Walker's Pancake House serves award-winning, breakfast and lunch cuisine including the world-famous Baked Apple Pancake and German Pancake as well as a variety of oven-baked omelettes, original-style pancakes, crepes, waffles, egg dishes, sandwiches and desserts. All ingredients are sourced locally where available. And when required, specialty ingredients are responsibly imported to give our guests the best breakfast creations possible. Over the years, Richard Walker's Pancake House has received many accolades. We were voted "Best Breakfast" by the Reader's Choice Awards in the Northwest Herald. We were given the "Top 5 Breakfast" award by the USA Today. And as seen on NBC television in Chicago, we were voted "Best of the Best." More recently, we were recognized as "The Pinnacle of Pancakes" by San Diego Magazine while that same year earning the "Best Breakfast Gold Medallion Award" by the California Restaurant Association.
History
Established in 1948.
Since 1948, the Walker family name has become synonymous with quality family dining. The family has since perfected its reputation for outstanding gourmet pancakes and breakfasts. Our story begins when Victor and Everett Walker began opening snack shops in Evanston, IL. In 1960, they opened Walker Bros. Original Pancake House in Wilmette, IL. In 1981, Ray Walker and Richard Walker Sr., sons of Victor, opened Walker Bros. Original Pancake House in Glenview, IL. In 1989, Richard Walker Sr. ventured out on his own and opened Richard Walker's Pancake House in Schaumburg, IL. In 1996, Richard Sr. opened a second location in Crystal Lake, IL. In 2006, Richard Sr. relocated to San Diego and opened the third location in downtown San Diego, CA. In 2014, Richard Walker Jr. joined the family business and opened the fourth Richard Walker's Pancake House in La Jolla, CA.

Richard Walker Jr. Graduated with Honors from the University of Iowa in 2001 with a BA in business. He was a proud member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity where he was a 3-time Social Chairman. Jr. was a campus hire with Ernst and Young where he joined the Firm as a Staff Consultant where he remained for almost 13 years until his resignation as a Manager. Richard has visited over 60 countries and has a passion for culture, customer service and business efficiency. Jr. conceived and financed the Richard Walker's Pancake House La Jolla location with resources he had saved over his career. Richard Walker Sr. (Father) stands along side Jr. as full-time adviser and mentor. Together they assist each other between the 2 San Diego County locations to continue bringing the best breakfast experiences to tens of thousands of guests every year.
