History

Established in 2008.

Mo Iqbal, an industry veteran with over 30 years experience, spent four years developing the concept for Prime Cut Cafe and Wine Bar. Iqbal, also a local Newport foodie, said he wanted to "appeal on many levels to an underserved audience, one that is hungry for top-notch food and wine in relaxed, neighborhood surroundings." Consulting chef Kelly Mullarney, working with Iqbal, created a menu inspired by comfort cuisine presented in a contemporary style. Prime Cut Cafe was born to blend three potent trends: value pricing, enlightened American comfort fare, and extensive wine offerings in a casual setting. The restaurant is conveniently located adjacent to the cinema multiplex in the Stadium Promenade entertainment center and within walking distance of the Honda Center arena.

With an MBA from Claremont College, Iqbal's expertise encompasses operations, marketing, finance, and development.  The Newport Coast resident is a passionate foodie.
