Pretend City Children's Museum Builds Better Brains! Our non-profit museum builds better brains through fun, whole-body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown-ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world. Pretend City Children's Museum is designed as an interactive mini-city that allows children to "pretend" to be adults. With an entire city at their fingertips, children can experience what it is like to live, work, play, and be a part of a community. With over 15,000 sq. feet of educational interactive exhibits and activities, Pretend City Children's Museum brings learning and imagination to life! Our Good to Go program provides free developmental check-ups, health screenings, and parenting programs. Check out our website for details. History
Established in 1996.
August 30, 2009 The grand opening of Pretend City, a 28,000 sq. ft. Childrens Museum serves as a community resource, offering classes for children and parents, outreach programs, teacher trainings, and fieldtrip opportunities. March 2010 Good To Go From Head To Toe held its 1st annual Family Fun & Wellness Fair offering free vision, dental, hearing and BMI screenings. More than 1,000 families participated in the museum's first health fair with more than 200 free screenings provided to children. April 2010 Pretend City held its first Family Autism Event which was a huge hit. Over 270 people attended to play in a friendly environment and interact with local support agencies. May 2010 1st Annual "When I Grow Up" day with a news reporter, firefighter, veterinarian, ballet dancer, police officer, dentist, baker, lifeguard and more. August 2010 Pretend City turned 1 year old. Pretend City is proud to be nominated for a National Medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
