Pie 'N Burger specializes in homemade food. Our recipes are over 80 years old for our pies. The meat we use in our burgers is ground for us every other day and is prime beef, the highest grade possible. We do off-site catering and are launching a food truck. Pie "N Burger was established in 1963. It is in the South Lake area of Pasadena.. The restaurant is a local gathering spot and has won numerous awards for the high quality of its food. Some of these have included best burger and pie in Los Angeles Magazine and a mention as one of the best burgers in America on an Epicurious.com site. As the burger phenomenom has grown, with chefs trying to outdo one another, the Pie 'N Burger burger is a prime beef hand-patted burger on a toasted bun with our own 1000 island dressing. The pies, of which there are many varities, are all hand-made using some of the finest ingredients. The recipes are over 80 years old. All is is done as it wasin the beginning.

My grandmother first brought me to Pie'N Burger after it first opened in 1963. I was 9 years old. Little did I realizethen that I would start working there as a cook in 1972 and partner with the owners. In 1992 I bought their remaining interest in the restaurant. Not much has changed in the way I do business. But I do think back to my times with my grandmother with the thought that life is truly profound.
