About the Business

Specialties

In 2008, Adriana Lopez Vermut and her father decided to bring their beloved Venezuelan culture to their California home. Since starting our brand in 2008 and opening our San Francisco location in 2010, Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen has been committed to sharing the fresh, vibrant flavors of Venezuela from a kitchen that slow cooks and hand makes every dish from scratch. Based in natural, healthy ingredients like yucca, plantains, and corn, our entire menu is 100% gluten-free and filled with healthy options. We're proud to introduce our family's tradition and culture's heritage with San Francisco, and we hope we'll get a chance to share it with you soon!

History

Established in 2008.

The name Pica Pica comes from the joy of discovery - it means to taste a little bit of everything on the table. Pica Pica is as much about family as it is about food. Founders Adriana Lopez Vermut and her father, Leopoldo Lopez Gil, started Pica Pica to help their US family members connect with their Venezuelan culture, heritage and history. Today, our customers are now our family, and we're honored to be a San Francisco start-up entering our 11th year with you at our table.

Business Owner

Venezuelans are known for being playfully mischievous, warm and welcoming - they never take themselves too seriously. Pica Pica brings those characteristics to its food, putting its own unique and playful twist on family recipes. Co-founder Adriana Lopez Vermut grew up in Caracas and comes from a family of cooks and restaurant owners. Her most valued memories start with time in the kitchen with friends and relatives.  Adriana is proud to share a taste of the Venezuelan heritage and personality with U.S. consumers. She invites you to bite into an arepa and let the juice run down your hands. Crunch down on a nachos taro chip that is clearly too big to fit in your mouth. Soak every fork-full of our savory food with your favorite sauce. Have a little fun with our food!

best Jamaican food in riverview, nice place to eat and have a drink. Recommend ordering way ahead, their food takes time to make and they appear busy most...
