Established in 2003.

In 2003, Robin Covey brought his culinary style to San Luis Obispo with the opening of Novo restaurant in the heart of the historic downtown district. The indoor dining room provides a sophisticated metropolitan environment while the stunning outdoor patios offer guests a spectacular view of San Luis Obispo Creek and the lush green backdrop that surrounds the Mission Plaza. With a diverse menu that includes full entrees, tapas, fresh baked desserts and an extensive selection of beers, wines, and handcrafted teas, the restaurant presents an enchanting collection of authentic tastes from around the world.

Business Owner

Novo owner and operator Robin Covey had dreams of owning a restaurant since childhood. He grew up cooking for family and friends and learning all he could about international cuisine. After running a health food store, Robin's Nest, for five years, his dream finally came true with the opening of Robin's restaurant in Cambria with partner and present owner Shanny Covey. Eighteen years later, he brought his celebrated expertise and style to downtown San Luis Obispo with the opening of Novo. The restaurant's stunning outdoor patios and diverse menu offering a variety of international flavors, is the culmination of Robin's lifetime of culinary experience and travels around the world.
