High end Steakhouse serving only 100% USDA Prime beef. Prime is the best. Prime is the highest grade given by the US Department of Agriculture. LG's Prime Steaks have the necessary marbling to deliver that great taste and texture which gives our guests a remarkable steak-eating experience. Midwestern corn-fed beef, fresh and never frozen, aged to perfection. Our Prime steaks are trimmed right here in our kitchen. We honestly believe that there is no better tasting steak than a USDA Prime steak prepared the way LG's does it. LG's is honored to be named on Tom Horan's America's Top Ten Hall of Fame list as one of the Best of the Best for 2013. LG's is also the proud recipient of both the AAA Diamond and Open Table Dinners Choice Awards.

History

Established in 1991.

Not content to while away his retirement years, Leon "LG" Greenberg combined his love of entertaining with his search for a good steak in the Coachella Valley by opening the first LG's Prime Steakhouse in Palm Desert in 1991. Awards and loyal patrons followed and two more locations, one in Palm Springs and one in La Quinta were added. LG became a local celebrity, mingling with customers and doing off the cuff TV commercials in his signature sweaters.

It all started 30 years ago, June 1991 when Leon Greenberg became known as Restaurateur "LG" and combined his love of entertaining with his search for a good steakhouse in the Coachella Valley.  So at the age of 68, what else would he do but open his first LG's PRIME Steakhouse in a historic 1948 adobe building on Highway 111 in Palm Desert.  With awards and loyal patrons following, he decided to add two additional locations.  Our Palm Springs location came along in December 1997 and our La Quinta was added in March 2002.  LG became a local celebrity, mingling with customers and having his picture taken in one of his signature sweaters.LG's legacy continues today under the watchful eye of his wife and partner of 34 years, Gail.  "Our famous tableside Caesar salad is LG's original recipe from our backyard cookouts," Gail says proudly.  "My staff and I are continuing LG's unwavering dedication to service to insure that every guest has an unforgettable experience".
