History

Established in 2004.

Hula Girls Shave Ice is a family owned business started by me, Kelly Cartter and my daughters officially in May of 2004 although we have been shaving ice for friends & family years before. Our family has deep roots in the Hawaiian community and our close tie to the Island of Kauai where my father in law worked on the Trident missile among others at PMRF with many Hawaiian and local friends. We developed our passion for Shave Ice from Jo Jo's Shave Ice in Waimea and Wishing Well Shave Ice in Hanalei. My husband and I were married in the backyard of our close friend's beach house (who were the Best Man and Brides Maid) in Anahola Bay, Kauai, with an Auntie performing the ceremony. When we were first asked to professionally at the Pediatric Cancer Run they said they wanted to promote our company and needed a name. Since Jason called our daughters his "little hula girls", our name was born! We thank everyone for the love and support we continue to receive while living our dream! Mahalo!
