Join us on a journey back in time! Inspired by Hemingway's recollections of Cuba in the 1920's, you will be transported to the streets of Havana. The Havana 1920 restaurant is open daily from 4:30pm to close; our Café opens at 8am daily, serving coffee, bites and sandwiches. Much of our décor is straight from Cuba, including real license plates, antique and rare rum bottles, classic cigar boxes, and more! Located in the heart of Gaslamp in downtown San Diego, our patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a Cubano Cafecito and a Postre to start your day. Or to enjoy an amazing cocktail and play an afternoon game of dominoes with your friends. Stay for a later afternoon snack or an amazing authentic Cuban dinner. Our specialties include: Cafe, Classic Cuban Cocktails, Bocaditos & Platillos & Rums. We have one of the largest selections of Rum in San Diego. Over 150 different kinds, that you have to see to believe it. We set out to create a truly unique and authentic Cuban experience right here in San Diego. History

Established in 2017.

The vision for creating an authentic Cuban style restaurant in downtown San Diego, was one of great passion for us. Our Chief Operating Office, Joe's, grandparents had to leave Cuba in the mid 1950's and ended up settling in Puerto Rico. His family's rich Cuban history was always prevalent in his upbringing, and opening this incredible restaurant was his way of honoring his family. It's been a dream of his for a long time, and we could not be more excited to share his vision with all of you. The décor is meant to transport you to a traditional style home in Havana during the 1920's. You will even find a hand-painted city mural of Joe's family's house proudly displayed. Every poster, picture, table, chair, painting, and more were carefully chosen to truly transport you back in time to the amazing era that was the 1920's in Cuba. GBOD Hospitality Group was founded in 2012 by brothers Raymond and Patrick Davoudi in San Diego with the opening of their first restaurant, Mezé Greek Fusion in the famous Gaslamp District. In 2014, the brothers had an opportunity to move and expand Meze to its current location in East Village. They also added two new partners, Joe Santos who has an extensive background in hospitality management and operations; and Aleko Achtipes, an experienced chef and back-of-house operations manager.
