Now in it's 16th year Forbidden Island proudly showcases quality Tiki cocktails and contemporary mixology in an authentic mid-century Tiki Lounge atmosphere, a retro oasis in the cultural wasteland of the 21st century. We are open for indoor and outdoor dining with a 90 minute seating times (for 1-3 guests) and 2 hours (for 4-8 guests). Reservations recommended, especially on weekend and proof of vaccine required for indoor dining. Also offering take out bottled cocktails and rum pours.

History

Established in 2006.

The brainchild of Tiki aficionados Michael and Mano Thanos (co-owners of Oakland's Conga Lounge) and Tiki mixologist Martin Cate. The mission was to showcase quality Tiki cocktails and contemporary mixology in an authentic midcentury Tiki Lounge atmosphere. Cate left in 2009 and Thanos, with the help of some extremely talented managers and bar staff, took this neighborhood bar and transformed it into a world class Tiki destination. Now in it's 15th year, Forbidden Island set a blueprint for the global Tiki revival and is still frequently rated as one of the best Tiki bars in the world!
